Welllll it kind of depends on what slot your motherboard can handle, if your motherboard can only handle AGP slot, then get rid of it, AGP is dead end and it will never meet up with PCI-E, you can buy a really good AGP video card for about 300 bucks, BUT what you could do instead with 300 is buy a motherboard and then buy a 80-120 dollar PCI-E video card, and still be left with about 100 bucks, trust me, I found that out after buying a decent AGP card, then I got pissed and built another computer. LOL

Aight I build custom PC's all the time so let me break it down to you like this. If you are looking to update a video card its not hard. Just determine if its a AGP or PCI-E slot. Go to www.newegg.com. If yout not a heavy game user then I highly recommend the geforce-8 series. Or you can get away with the geforce 7 series. No you can't just swap out Mobo's its more complicated then that. Plus you can build an entire new computer (with a quad) easily under 300 dollars if your just going basic with some gaming in mind. More than likely though if you got driver issues then its a video card issue. But if say you don't know what your doing then more than likely its your internet and background. Open up the run application from start and type in msconfig. this will bring up your start up apps etc etc. You can disable anything on startup (unless you use a vista computer or anything like toshiba then you have to watch) other than taht disable all startup. then go to the other tab and hide all microsoft windows apps. disable the rest you see there. reboot and you should notice a difference. if that doesn't help and you determine that you don't really got anything running in the background (ctrl+alt+del will show you this) then its more than likely your video card. but be wary if your computer has seen some wear then all around new computer might be your future

Well I don't know how it is in England but they money you usually pay to have a pro look at your computer you might as well buy a new one. Just a for warning. And don't always let your cousin or brother or best friend fix your computer. Couldn't tell you how many of those I have had to repair because of that. If you lived in my state I would fix your computer for next to nothing
