All of you that are saying that it's an hearing problem, I'm not sure if you read the entire article, which said that they don't hear the strange sounds when they leave the house.... So it obviously isn't their age/ hearing problems...

Hums have been reported in various geographical locations. In some cases a source has been located. A well-known case was reported in Taos, New Mexico, and thus the Hum is sometimes called the Taos Hum. Hums have been reported all over the world, especially in Europe. A Hum"on the Big Island of Hawaii, typically related to volcanic action, is heard in locations dozens of miles apart. The local Hawaiians also say the Hum is most often heard by men. The Hum is most often described as sounding somewhat like a distant idling diesel engine. Typically the Hum is difficult to detect with microphones, and its source and nature are hard to localize."

Re: Couple haunted by odd noise

Ghosts are a form of glitch in the spacetime fabric. Given at the picopicopicoscopic level, spacetime fabric is warped and is definitely not smooth. tears and tubes exist all over the place. Hence, ghosts are a form of energy produced by spacetime glitches. Wherever there is a huge uniform glitch (ie large hole/large tube), apparition like phenomena occur. Such ghosts "haunt" areas defined by the magnitude of their energy and the type of fundamental force it releases the energy in (forms such as obstructive light, longitudinal waves of sound etc.)

I don't really like to call ghosts ghosts, but specters.

                  That's my theory of specters.

I don't believe in ghosts that come out displayed as distinct images (like flying objects or recognizable voices), but as abstract results (such as flickering lights or uniform sounds).

It's me. Years ago I dug a small tunnel under their house, and now I sit in the earthy center of this tunnel and drum on my bongos until I fall asleep.

                        Meh, when I see a ghost/spectre/spirit/whatever, I'll believe it.

Like I said earlier in this thread, these old people just want attention because their grandchildren don't come to visit them anymore.

I do think ghosts are real, but we can't see them. But I agree with ENR, they're probably are having hearing aids and/or they're lonely and want attention from people

                                Another expedition into the supernatural.

They heard noises. So therefore it was a ghost. Lawl.
