So at some point early today a Level 3 fiber-optic cable was cut in the Chicago headquarters for the internet. The backups are all saturated and the internet is running about .02x for mine and everyone else's ISP in the Chicago area. It took a minute and a half for this page to load. Kind of makes me nostalgic for the days of dialup, but not really. I also find it funny how South Park did an episode on this kind of subject recently.
I heard from someone that this problem should be getting fixed at about 8pm CST tonight.
So yea, if you're in the Chicago area and wondering why your internet is slow as hell, it isn't just you.
