    The Passion of Christ

Well, after Gibson announced he *EDIT(sorry)* direct Holy Boy himself in this somewhat *cough* questionable film outing, I knew it would accomplish three things:
    1. It would suck
    2. It would make a mockery of the bible, Judiasm, Christianity, and religion as a whole.
    3. It would destroy his Film carrer, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if he's gonna use it to make crap like this.

There's a guy who reviewed the movie, and I like his opinion on it. Read it here:

Gibson isn't in the movie at all, and how can you say that telling a story in the bible would make a mockery of religion when you are an outspoken religious critic.

That "review" was the worst, most biased pile of crap I've ever read. In no way was it hilarious, though it clearly tried to be and failed.

First off, stfu Vx it's funny and you know it. Second, Mel is DIRECTING the movie, whoo for me, I thought he was in it (now why would I think that?) Anyway, it's a mockery because it skews and presents the facts in a biased and untrue manner. It strays from the real story in several ways...for instance, it portrays the king Pilate as a sensitive, caring ruler who was forced into crucifying Jesus because of a chanting Jewish mob. In reality, he was a tyrannical, heartless and cruel ruler who sent hundreds of people to death without a trial.

i was wondering if you would see the movie before you proclaim that is sucks...would you believe anything someone told you...it really isnt a movie for people that arent interested in jesus, religously or historically...and i dont see how any of that would make a mockery of anything, religous people love it

My mom's making me see it tomorrow... Sigh. Things I have no interest in normally don't make good entertainment for me.

Ok, let me get this straight. You went to see a movie about a guy you knew gets tortured and killed, and you're appalled that the movie depicted him being tortured and killed?
                  and
All that blood was bled for you. And those chunks of flesh ripped from his back for you. Think: you caused each horrific spray of blood; every inch of blood-slicked hamburger-Jesus was to forgive your life of sin. Watch it again!
Where the only two responses that made sense. That person was right. He is showing what Jesus had to go through to free us from our sins. He did that for us. Jesus could have ran away, or killed himself or something, but he wanted us to be freed from our sins. Yes, I agree that the movie should have been less violent, but that is what actually happened, except for the hand thing...where they couldn't find the right area...*shudders*, but that is what happened to him. That was the whole point of Jesus being sent down on this earth, to die on the cross for us.

I dont care enough about it. I'd see the movie so I'd have more legs to stand on when someone comes around and argues about the movie, but I have enough legs as it is without seeing the movie.

Anti, screw you. Some people may like it. Alot of people may like it. And the people that like it probably wont say its a mockery. You may find it a mockery to the bible, but that's just you. All Gibson is doing is going, "Hey! I made a movie that shows what I think happened to Jesus! You don't have to go see it, but it's there in case you're interested or anything!"

Further more, I dont think youve seen the movie, and saying that it sucks before youve seen it...well...sucks. It's like picking up The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at Barnes and Noble, reading the paragraph summary on the back, and saying "Damn, someone must have been really high when they were making this," and then putting back on the shelf and never reading it.

                    Edit:

Hmmm...I never seemed to have laughed while reading it. I don't think it is a "funny" matter.
