The word pop originated in michigan, or more specifically Detroit.

The OLDDD Faygo bottles.. when you opened them, they made a "popping" noise.. And everyone from then on just called it pop.

So generally, areas around michigan will call it pop, while alot of southern states call everything coke, and most other states call it soda.

Yea, I live a few hours from Michigan, I'm in Ontario, right above Michigan. We call it pop.

Btw, I've never tried Faygo, they don't sell it here.

That's lucky getting the free money. I've only had a few vending machine faults, like getting two Cherry/Peach Powerades and Pink Lemonades from only $1 every once in a while.

Oh, and I call carbonated beverages soda, or by the brand name. Everyone else here in Ohio pretty much calls it pop, and it sounds so childish and idiotic. >_<
