No, AIM is really a pretty good chat service. Granted DeadAIM is better, but I'm too lazy to d/l it, and I don't really see the need...basically when you go into chat rooms you leave your away message up to offset the pr0n bots, and otherwise just chat normally. And MSN does kind of suck, it's way too hard just to do plain 'ol chatting and there's too much crap in the way while you're doing that.

Changing your name is cosmetic. It's nifty, but unnecessary and doesn't sway me one way or the other.
AIM has buddy icons, same thing as MSN's avatars only smaller. And yeah, www.badassbuddy.com has some awesome buddy icons (mine rocks ^^ )

DeadAIM isn't free, but it's easy enough to pirate, even though it sucks ass and just like, forgets it's installed and doesn't function anymore (even though AIM works fine) after like, 12 hours of use.

The fact that AIM has pron im's and virus's should be fact enough not to use it. granted your stupid encryptions protect, but I've found it easier to just use msn. That and all my buddies have MSN. Some of them have AIM, but some don't.
I never said AIM wasn't free, someone said msn was just another way for microsoft to make money and the free msn comment was directed in responce to that one.
Maybe I have a good grasp on msn because i havn't had any problems with just normal chatting.
