Re: Labtop suggestion!?
Is that wink because VAIO's are complete garbage? If I was anyone getting a computer, this is my advice to you - STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM VAIO'S. There. I feel better. I say that because getting one of those bad boys fixed when they break is IMPOSSIBLE. Sony likes to make their parts exclusively, so you have to send your computer directly to a Sony manufacturer - which can take weeks if you're not close to a manufacturer.
Lastly, I have a Toshiba, and I love it. I think I have one of the Satellite models (don't remember which), and I haven't had any problems with it except that one time I tried to play with my MSConfig. All in all, I'd recommend a Toshiba to you.
P.S. Get on Amazon or some other place that reviews electronics and see what people say. It'll help you a ton.
EDIT: Get a machine with XP - they're more reliable, and cheaper.

Vista runs great if you have the machine to run it on. If you are trying to save money, check newegg. Search by Windows XP look for a Gig of ram and a dual core. Plenty under 800 that run XP great. If you have trouble finding it let me know I can link you a few.
