    Re: The Official Rubik's Thread

A lucky solve is usually on a system-by-system basis. A lucky case for one method of solving is irrelevant to another's. Basically, if you skip multiple steps in your approach, it's a "lucky" solve. For instance, if you use the Fridrich method, skipping an F2L slot + PLL would be very lucky.

1 hour, 45 minutes and 43 seconds for the 4x4. In other words, I suck with these things

If practice makes perfect, but no one has reached perfection, then why the hell practice?

The method of solving is much different for blindfold cubing and it isn't nearly as hard as it sounds. It is still difficult but of course easier with practice.

Rubix, when you do blindfolded relays do you memorize all of the cubes at once then solve each one sequentially, or do you memorize solve memorize solve etc?

              Re: The Official Rubik's Thread

I solved one with one hand a few weeks ago...it was like 2'58. I'm sure someone here can do better.

And bender could you post your simplified F2L method? I'm trying to make my own off of a more complicated one (42 steps, I'm trying to limit it to 8 or so), but it is much more time consuming.

                Re: The Official Rubik's Thread

i would say yes i'll post it BUTT it's not anything special. All I know are 2-3 from the F situations and 2-3 from the U situations. As well as a R maybe 2. I never took my time to learn the rest. Sure it will take you a long time but i strongly suggest just take your time and learn the entire F2L because it can help you a lot in the future

and jokim i suggest learning the fridrich method because A I find it to be more simple and to make more sense and B I just like it better

I've seen a video of rubix solving 3 cubes. He memorizes them all and solves them all sequentially without taking off the blindfold. Pretty damn amazing if you ask me.

So if it isn't in one of your 3 situations, do you just shift the corner until it is? Because then I can just use a website or something to get the algorithims. I am starting to get the hang of it now, although some situations take me quite a bit longer than others.

As for Rubix, well, now I really do understand why his name is Rubix. Does anyone have a link for that video?

I really don't see how that is possible. I mean, I believe he did it and all, but no way could most people do that unless they spent years practicing. I could try, I think I get how he does it, but just too many chances to slip up. Amazing.
