.. That's not off topic. And if it is, the Houston Radio comment is off topic.

Unless my ears mislead me, the question he asked before the officers carried him away was something to do via. a membership that the guy believed John Kerry had to a certain underground cult....now that's an inappropriate question to ask in a university, surely? From my P.O.V the police officers condemned the question inappropriate and attempted to escort him from the room, and the rest is history.

(Oh, i'm not saying i'm right, heck, i'm not even american so i don't even know the full story, but that's what i gathered solely from that video clip.)

              A) Dammit I missed this thread.
              B) Tokzic, never become a police officer or especially a lawyer. And before you get your ass thrown in jail, learn the law. I doubt it's that different in Canada.

The controversy comes from the fact that his actions may or may not have been disruptive at the level which he was carried out. The police officers carried him out rather quickly and without warning. He did, though, resist the police officers, which is grounds for tazering the ****er. Personally I say to him gtfo. The whole thing was handled appropriately.

It's not their job to "condemn" questions inappropriate. It's their job to take care of things if things get dangerous, etc... which, of course, there was no danger at all. Kerry was willing to answer his questions therefore no force should have been taken. If Kerry had said, "Okay, I don't want to answer that. Please have a seat," and the man refused to stop talking and go away then the police would have a reason for arresting him in the first place.

I don't recall hearing anything about a cult. If I had to recall a transcript of what happened, it would have gone like this:

Meyer: Are you familiar with what XXX said in YYY book?
Kerry: Yes, I have read it.
Meyer: [explains what the author said, even though Kerry already knows]
Kerry [trying to interject so that Meyer can ask his question]: Y-yes... I know....
Meyer: [saps more of his allotted time by explaining the book and finally gets around to asking a question, but then babbles some more]
[Allotted time used up, microphone is shut off]

I'm pretty sure his entire question/speech was directed at the election and why Kerry didn't challenge it. The question was very much appropriate, and Kerry himself even said that he wanted to answer it. As such, the question wasn't the problem; it was the disrespectful behavior of Meyer that got him thrown out: disrespect for the structure of the Q&A, disrespect for Kerry, and disrespect for the cops who tried to be civil with him.

Again, i may be wrong, but the words roughly what i hear from that video state something along the lines of....

Meyer: Are you a member of 'skull [some words which i can only hazard a guess at being] (and brooms', in college with) [/hazardous guess] bush, are you in the same secret society?
                    Kerry: That's alright....let me....answer his question
(Meyer then starts rambling as officers take him away)

EDIT: *goes back to triple-check the video before making sure that's what he heard* ¬_¬
