Re: Madness Is About To Insue
Really? That would mean no slower than an average of 3.1 pages per minute.
The average page exceeds a wordcount of 250. That works out to over 750 words per minute on average. That means at least 15 words per second.
You're telling me that you managed to read 15 words per second for 4 hours?
Wow.
I have one more question: Who cares how long it took you to read it? It doesn't matter. It doesn't make anybody more intelligent. Your brain could not have absorbed half the book, even at your best concentration. It's simply not possible to process fifteen words in one second at a constant rate with changing contexts.
I don't remember how long I spent reading the book, but it took me a bit more than 4 hours.
As a nice, even number, let's assume one minute per page. That equates to approximately 4 words per second. There are 759 pages. That makes for over 12.5 hours. Assuming one were able to read twice that spead, it would make it to 6 and a quarter hours.
Hmm.
Since the rate of reading would probably be closer to 20 words per second (I was being conserative earlier), here's how much you would read at that constant rate for 5 seconds:
Morbi eu tortor. Pellentesque consectetuer venenatis sapien. Nulla convallis. Pellentesque tortor.
