haha I'll agree with this one, but if you use the fraction technique of proving it, I'd be interested to see since it has been a while since I've seen it done and I forget exactly how that goes (all I remember is that you get 9/9).

For all cases we assume .999 is .999 repeating

x = .999
10x = 9.999 repeating

10x - x = 9x
and
9.999 - .999 = 9
9 = 9x
1 = x

uh, limits are different. Limits say "this function approaches this number at this point". There's really no actual equality in a limit, when you use an equals sign when solving a limit problem, you're saying "the limit equals this".
