The mailman is dishonest. He steals.

Each of the two friends has his own lock and key.

They put their mail in a secure box.

Question: How can Denis send a letter to Léo without the mailman opening the box?

The real (and much easier) answer is:
1. report the mailman and get him fired.
2. send the letter.
it doesn't get any easier than that.

The third, I got just by glancing at it. The second I could have done, had I done the math. As Squeek pointed out, though, half a man could not catch even half a fish. The first is just plain stupid, and the wine one is easy if you take the time for it. Not exactly "for college students", just for anybody with a basic talent for critical thought.
