Sorry, no. The worst thing that could happen is the price actually going up.

ps I gotta get gas tonight. How have the prices been?

What is the price up there in Michigan? I haven't checked this evening, but during the afternoon Chicago suburb prices were hovering at $3.55. Yeah, I'm not joking.

I think I paid like 3.30 where I got it.

And as for alternatives to oil: none of them are cost effective, even if they exist. Basically, oil alternatives are too costly to produce to replace oil. Not only that, but the roots of the oil industry are very deep... think of how many gas stations and car companies rely on selling of gasoline. Imagine how much it would cost to make a massive switch over to an alternate source of energy.

Well, stretchy, that's because there's oil in everybody's backyards in Texas and you could just let the oil sit out in the scorching Texas sun for awhile to distill it. Some people who don't like getting their hands dirty, of course, don't do this, but overall the demand in Texas is low due to that.

Actually I'm in Mississippi, and Hurricane Katrina decimated several of our oil reserves along the coast.

                      EXPLAIN MY LOW PRICES NOW.

Those prices aren't low. Prices dropped under two dollars in the winter. That was low. They're just low compared to the rest of the country. Especially Chicago. Man, the oil companies must just ****ing hate us.

Hitting $3.60 here in California. My car gets really good gas mileage, but gas still eats my bank account. =((((

I didn't buy gas on the 15th either, or a few days before, and I think I can go another 2 or 3 days, BOYCOTT I SAY.

Saying "don't buy gas this day" doesn't work, AS HAS BEEN SAID, because you'll just buy it later. You're not costing them money, you're just delaying the time it takes them to get your money.

You myspace whores really wanna hit the gas companies, make a chain mail that says "stop driving your car".

Re: Don't pump gas on May 15th ....

I saw a thing on Yahoo news a week or so ago that said that the big problem is that a lot of countries have gas subsidies, so the government pays for the gas and then gives it to the citizens for like 10 cents per gallon. And it stays at that price no matter what the oil companies are charging the government. The article was saying that THAT is the big problem, because it eliminates the effects of demand, since the people in those countries (which the article said made up a huge portion of the gas consumption worldwide) are gonna buy the same amount of gas all the time, for the same price.

Really, people just need to stop buying SUVs and get hybrids. There's nothing wrong with hybrids, really. I don't know why there has been such opposition to getting them. Really, hybrids oughta be common and cheap enough to be next to the normal cars. They shouldn't be off to themselves in a corner like "ewww, don't buy that, buy this Hummer! It gets 2 miles per gallon!! =D"

Also, like I said at first, we're not the only ones using gas. Yeah, the US has a huge number of cars, but we also have government-imposed requirements on fuel efficiency. Other countries, as they get more and more cars, have little to no requirements and so, even though they don't have as many cars, they end up buying tons of gas. Really, unless we get the whole world to start driving super fuel efficient cars and walking more often than they drive, we're not going to change anything.

Good luck changing lots of countries, much less just the US, though. =\
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
