Birthday present for an ex

So me and my girlfriend of a year and a half broke up about four months ago, but on generally good terms. We're still in contact every so often, and still hang out with mutual friends. A problem I have now is that her birthday's coming up in a couple of weeks, and I'm still in the position where I should give her a present, but have absolutely no idea what it should be.

I'm not looking for anything especially serious, but don't want to give her something stupid at the same time. Any suggestions?

How close would you say you two still are? Or rather, how do you feel about her? You'd probably want to give her something you'd give an ordinary female friend, but it's hard to know given that we can't gauge your situation that accurately.

what in the hell does 20 bucks get you??? barely a nice scented body spray from vitorias secret...

a $20 gift card says "yea this is basically last minute, i have no idea what to get you, and im too cheap to spend anything more on you, so have a happy birthday and enjoy your frustration on trying to decide what to get under the $20 limit"

if your still good friends, get her a charm bracelet, and have a matching one... a friends forever charm that locks together, now you dont necessarily have to wear it, but the thought of something like that from an ex for your birthday is kind of heart warming...
