It says this when I try to choose a plan.

Also, when I try to log in, it just says "Processing" and never stops saying that, therefor never logs me in.

If you have a DVD burner, gogogo.

If not... well... what I've been trying to do lately is buy a ~300 gig external hard drive. But I really, really, really don't have the money. Someday, though.

        Dude.

Stop being stupid. Put it on some kind of portable media. Internet file sites are not reliable and when you want to retrieve the files, you will need to download them. You really want to download 4 gigs of stuff?

If you really must put it on the Internet though, JUST EMAIL IT TO YOURSELF IN GMAIL. Not sure of the file limit on Gmail, so you might need to break it up, but who cares. Google is completely reliable.

Actually, I believe there is actually software which allows you to use your Gmail account like a network drive. That would be fairly effective here, but once again, you'll need to download 4 gigs and that is not something especially easy to accomplish (and that's ignoring the time it'll take to upload the 4 gigs in the first place).

ps is it a regional thing for me to call them gigs? Do you guys seriously call them "GBs"?

              Re: Hosting 4 GB

Here's what you do. I'm assuming you have a desktop and a CD burner, but not a DVD burner. Download WinRAR and use the "best" option as a compression method, and under "split to volumes, parts", pick 650M. Burn each part to a separate disc, and include the installer of WinRAR on the first disc. If you ever want to extract all the files, insert each disc and copy all the parts, and then use the WinRAR installer to put the program on the computer and extract the files. Easy.

If you don't have a CD burner, they cost $20 and are easily installable on a desktop. Media is cheap; .10 a disc. If you want to make it easy and avoid the WinRAR route, spend $40 on a DVD burner. Media is about .40 for a single-layer disc.

Oh, if you have a laptop and no burner, you're pretty much ****ed when it comes to removable media. Unless you want to spring for a 4~8 gig flash drive. That'll run you back anywhere from $40-$100.

                  My thoughts exactly.

EDIT: My list was a bit outdated >_< // I went through and deleted non-working links, and updated file limits. Apparently megashares accepts up to 10GB files, so I'd say a single zip/rar would work there.

Split archive it, sizes of 500mb would suffice, and upload your resulting files to TWO TO THREE of the aforementioned sites.

It would suck really bad to lose it, and uploading to just one would be a huge risk. No one would be downloading these files, and the ones with no hits normally go first. They make money by people coming to their site, not by files sitting there.

Oops, I was thinking of only internal drives. You could spring for an external drive if you have a laptop and still go the "disc archive" route, which is much more reliable than web hosts.

With this, the only problem would be money.
