Why don't people tell me these things?

I had no idea that 1 cup of dried beans = 3 cups of soaked beans. As a result, I now have twice as many beans as I can deal with. I'm gonna have to make two batches of chili... with extra beans. :\

And I don't know where I am going to put them. I don't have that much containers. :\

This may sound crazy. But there's this crazy thing called a mouth and chances are you have one. You should try storing the leftover beans in there.

Just make the extra batch of chili, and eat it all. Binging once won't hurt you. It's binging constantly that will get your chin in the middle of your face.

Or does anybody else want chili?

I can't help but feel I must comment in this thread.

However, I have little worth adding.

Eat them straight. Don't need to add anything to beans or even prepare them in any special way to make them good.

You don't understand. It's a LOT. Like, I usually make enough chili to last me a month, so, erm....

I guess I'm going to be eating a lot of chili for the next while :\

What I usually make is a bit more than 16 litres, probably around 20 maybe. However much fits in my pot. And yeah, it lasts a long time.

20 litres is 5 and a quarter gallons, for americans.

So I have like, 2 and a half times that much. It's too much. It doesn't even fit in my pot, I have to make it in batches. :\ I am scrounging for containers to stick this stuff in.

I'm a vegetarian. It's vegetarian chili. Beans taste better than meat substitute. And they are probably more nutritious.

And if I had something to put it in, I'd just freeze it and keep it like I normally do.

Plastic containers aren't that expensive...you could just buy a few large ones and you'd be set.

Yes. It's late on a Sunday night so I can't buy them. Also, I have class ALL DAY Monday. So the soonest I would be able to buy more containers is Tuesday.

I may end up having to do that. Leave the chili sitting around in big bowls with saran wrap on top until then. :\
