I was on the school bus home this afternoon when i turned on my phone (cell phone in American) and i see that i had 6 missed calls from a unknown number. I thought to myself okay i'll ignore it cause i don't know who it is. 5 minutes later the same number calls so i answer. "Hello?"

and a man replies "hello this is amy's father.."

so i said "erm okay..."

He siaid "who are you..."

and i replied "I'm Matt what can i do for you.."

He then proceded to play 20 questions with me, how do you know Amy, where do you live, etc. So after a while i was like erm okay i have to go now. So i hung up and i turned to James and proceeded to explain what had just happened. Then he said has she called you before? i said yeah. then he said that one of his past girlfriends parents had called up doing the same thing becuase they had a massive phone bill. So now i live in constent fear of him calling me back and trying to get to pay for this massive phone bill.

He also asked if i was her boyfriend to which i replied no. He then asked do you have a girlfriend and i also said no.

So i don't what i should do. Im buying a new phone this weekend so hopefully that means im safe from these phone calls. But he knows what suburb i live in so he could easily get my home phone number, If Amy has told him my last name. I don't want to pay for this bill she called me on her phone and my mobile phone always cuts out but she kept ringing back and i was like erm... i have to go... but she would start talking again.

So what should i do?

Stop talking to Amy for a while.

Same thing with me, i was on the phone with my girlfriend til like 1 and her dad got mad at her for that, and her dad kept calling me all night so that he could cuss me out and everything, so i decided to stop talking to my girlfriend for a while so her dad doesn't flip that shes talking to me again.

My related experience: Once I ran a roleplaying site where I met this girl named Kathy. She lived in Washington state. She loved calling me - on her father's cell phone. Also, my brother and my brother's friend were hyperactive idiots at the time (like two years ago) so one of their favourite pasttimes was running up to me while I was on the phone with her and hanging it up.

$300 of calls to me in a month. She was grounded from the computer until she could pay it off herself, during which time we wrote to each other instead. She still calls every now and then; of course, her parents never stalked me, so I'm going to have to go with a combination of Mal's and Mindfields' advice.

Next time he calls, tell him to stop harassing you and ask him who he is, why he's calling, and to stop calling you.

It is just like parents these days to not punish their own kids but rather blame you for her calling you. He should be making her pay for the bill. He cannot do anything to you and cannot make you pay for the bill.

The next time he calls you tell him you are going to call the police. That should be fun.

a) I'm not gonna rape or set fire to Amy
b) I'm not gonna pay for Grandia's phone bill
c) I'm buying a new phone because mine is already dying
d) Never Ever gonna answer my phone again unless i know who's number it is
e) If he calls me again i'm going to tell him to leave alone, otherwise i'll make a call to the police
f) I'm gonna rip Atreyu's new album to my computer right now
