    FFR Radio DJ's

Now that everyone has a chance to broadcast whatever they want, people are going to get stuck in line.

As of now, all the stations are full. I am currently broadcasting on Station 5, http://www.flashflashrevolution.com:8000/music4.m3u . I play mostly Techno and Trance. So, should we get DJ's that want to play specific genres, and take turns with the stations? For example, station 3 could be Rock, station 4 could be Rap, Station 5 could be techno. Then we could have multiple Station 5 DJ's, and take turns.

Also, should we have specials, such as from 9PM-11PM anyone can request a song for the specific station?

These are just ideas. We could just leave it as it is. =\

    Re: FFR Radio DJ's

My 2 requests, as an admin on the radio server....

    1. please don't just auto-dj. ONLY connect to the servers and play when you are actually there. It isn't fair to anyone else who wants to play music if you're off doing other stuff but leaving your playlist running

    2. if you do just auto-dj.... at least have the curtosy to put your reconnect to something high, like 30 or 60 seconds, so that should someone else want on, I can kick you off the station and let them on.

Also.... should someone want to do a big show like had been happening on the shoutcast server... and want to advertise it all big time and what not.... let me know and I'll consider letting you onto the auto-dj server.
    RIP

I have a WIDE variety of music in my library so genre specific might not work for me. Only gripe I have is people Auto-DJing. I wouldn't mind doing a show soon if the Staff let me. =P

Chromer, at this time, we're having trouble working with the main server that the auto-dj is on. So, my advice for now (at least) would be to try and get on one of the public servers... which will almost certainly be impossible.

Since 1pm today, the same people have been on almost the entire time. JasonKey is running an auto-dj, as are 3 random people. I already posted above my feelings about this. I hope that Synth will post regarding it as well.

Well is there a way to determine if these people are auto-djing on the public channels? If there isn't, there should a be a rule stating how much time an auto-dj can be on before that channel is up for grabs.

Tass, totally didn't think about it, as was part of the testing initially. Killing my connection as we speak to free up slots for you guys. Enjoy ...

Umm, if you don't mind me asking, who is JasonKey? An administrator who works with Synth?

I am going to rework the rules a bit. The points that tass brought up are valid and need to be included on the rules. I was not sure if we would be able to fill all the radio spots most of the time but it looks like this is the case.

                Cheers,

                  Re: FFR Radio DJ's

Haha, I guess I might as well be honest. Since about yesterday, I have always been conneted to Station 5. I have been DJing and taking request when I'm at the computer, which is essentially when I'm not at school, or when I'm sleeping, then I leave it on Auto-DJ. Now, the reason I have been leaving it on Auto-DJ is that I've had at least +5 listeners, which I think is a decent amount. My radio is specifically Trance, Techno, and Hardcore, plus anything that is requested. If Auto-DJ'ing is not going to be allowed, then I will just DJ the entire time I'm at the computer. Now, I would LOVE to be able to auto-Dj when I'm gone, seeing how I get a decent amount of listeners, then DJ and take requests whem I'm home, which is 4PM EST to ? EST.

So if Auto-DJ'ing is a big issue, I can stop it. I've noticed some other channels always changing, so maybe it's not an issue now. I could be wrong, so I'll wait and see what the administrators decide.

just a question do we use MIRC to take requests or is thir something new for that also shouldn't we have a sign up thread so its easier to figure out who's on and when

I just told my listeners to go to the FFR chat at the website and request songs there. You can use whatever you want, I think =\

bman... I think for now, we'd request that you don't auto-dj at all. It would be ok if you're going for dinner for 20 minutes, but not for 8 hours while at school or 8 hours while asleep.

Also, I think it would be a good idea to put an AIM name in your stream as well as your FFR username. That way people can contact you for requests and to tell you their opinion of the show, and also so that we know who you are on FFR. It kind of defeats the purpose of having FFR Radio if we don't even know who is broadcasting.

How do you enter your name into your stream? Also, I managed to Live DJ for about 4 hours today. I managed to get about 6 listeners so I'm ok with that. Now it's time to sign up for having my own Radio Show.

                            EDIT: Oh snap post 2700

YP = Yellow Pages. just edit the data in there. Put it in stream title or stream name or genre, as those are the ones that show up when you go to the ffrradio.com page. Currently, none of that info shows up on the ffr.com page, which I hope will get fixed.
