Agreed, $187 for jeans is IMO a waste of money, but it's his damn money so I couldn't give 2 sh!ts what he does with it. Sockwars wasting his money doesn't affect you does it? So wtf do you care? Actually, I've got some pretty expensive clothes/watches/jewelry too. I blew $150 on a pair of Ray Bans. Are you gunna ridicule me for that? Over the internet yea you probably will...but in real life? I doubt it.

PS - I never said girls were attracted to expensive clothes. I said they were attracted to guys who "dress well". That doesn't necessarily mean expensive.

Kohl's is the best place ever.

ps people in my class thought it was incredibly retarded that someone in my class spend $80 on jeans, I personally don't care, but I think it is a gigantic waste of money. Even if I could afford them, I'd rather get something useful.

Holy crap they are sunglasses and they break you spent a hundred fifty dollars on them are you a freaking moron?!

Recently I've started spending a LITTLE more money than I'm used to on things like jeans. JC Penney used to carry styles I loved to wear for low prices, but recently, pretty much any jeans you can buy at Kohls (which sucks thank you) or anywhere where they cost less than $20 have been made with super stretchy fabric. They shrink, they make me feel fat, and they're really REALLY tight and unflattering. I can understand splurging a little on higher quality merchandise, but seriously. I would have made fun of your frivolous spending, too.

Who are we to judge? Simple. Because he asked the people at his school to judge him. If he's going around telling people that he's wearing a pair of $187 jeans, he's asking to a reaction. And general reaction of the people posting in this thread was that he's an absolute retard. When you start going over the $100 mark for jeans, you're no longer paying for quality. You're paying for a brand or a logo, and there is no denying that. Have you ever seen a pair of jeans at wal-mart for that price? Didn't think so.

No, that's me speaking like a person who doesn't understand why people want others to think they're idiots.

Okay, fine, don't take advice from me. All I know is that whatever I'm doing, it got me hot stuff right here:

Agreed, $187 for jeans is IMO a waste of money, but it's his damn money so I couldn't give 2 sh!ts what he does with it. Sockwars wasting his money doesn't affect you does it? Why WOULDN'T I ridicule you in real life? I'm doing it right here, and there's no difference in the ludicre of his or your purchases. What, do you take me for some kind of pansy who wouldn't stand behind what he says?

And why do you think I care about what sockwars or you do with your money? I never once suggested I did. That fact, however, doesn't strip me of the right to ridicule you two. On top of that, as Yung stated, he ASKED for it by going to high school dressed like that and posting on a public forum about it.

PS - I never said girls were attracted to expensive clothes. I said they were attracted to guys who "dress well". That doesn't necessarily mean expensive.

It was obvious that that was your insinuation of the manner and the thread in which you posted it. Do you really expect people to believe that you weren't talking about expensive clothes? Yeah, you came into a thread about a kid talking about $187 jeans and made a post supporting him, but were really talking about completely unrelated clothes. Don't try to slither away using semantics; at least stand behind your words.

                  Re: High School Fashion

emccky - I never intimidated, threatened or made fun of anybody. Where the hell do u get the idea that I'm trying 2 be macho and scare people?? People who threaten to beat up others over the INTERNET are the lamest people on earth. They're all probably scrawny, pencil necked geeks who wouldn't dare talk 2 u like that in the real world.

Hr2 - "I personally don't care, but I think it is a gigantic waste of money. Even if I could afford them, I'd rather get something useful." - My sentiments EXACTLY

stretchypanda - First of all, they are really nice shades! 2nd, shades don't break unless you break them. 3rd, when I bought them I was rich as hell so spending $150 on shades wasn't a big deal. stretchypanda, are u saying u don't have a Coach purse?? Almost every girl i know has a Coach purse, and those cost hundreds of dollars...for a PURSE!

YungYung - why do you say he asked the people at his school to judge him? nowhere in his post did he say "i went around telling people i was wearing $187 jeans and they ridiculed me". He might have done that but we don't know so don't assume.

                  *EDIT
Guido - Semantics shmemantics, I chose my words very carefully and mean only what I say. If I meant to say girls were attracted to guys with expensive clothes, then I would have said "Girls are attracted to guys who wear expensive clothes." But no, I didn't say that because I know that's not true. I specifically said "Girls are attracted to guys who DRESS WELL". Stop putting words in my mouth. Geezus...now I know what Novacaine feels like.

Since you seem to have missed it the first time around, I'll restate: He asked the people to judge him by wearing the jeans. To a high school, no less. Anything that stands out is asking to be judged and criticized.

                      Re: High School Fashion

Uh. No. I don't have a Coach purse. They cost hundreds of dollars. **** 'em. The most I spent on a purse was I think $35 for a Tommy Hilfiger I bought with my employee discount at Belk. Still too much for a purse, I say.

I like to think of myself as a smart consumer. Sure, sometimes I think ridiculously expensive items are cute. But I'm not going to pay outrageous prices for something that will more than likely be out of fashion in less than a year. Nor will I pay outrageous prices for wardrobe staples, like jeans. While flipping through Lucky (a magazine dedicated to shopping, for those of you who don't know), I found a shirt in an article about "looking rich by keeping it simple" for $158. This wasn't some solid gold shirt, nor did it have any kind of intricate detailing woven by Georgio Armani himself. It was a plain white button-down blouse. Pretty much any plain white cotton blouse you buy for more than $25 is a rip-off. Now, really, does my $20 shirt look any less professional than the $158 one?

If you're going to buy something expensive to prove that you can, why would you buy something as plain as jeans or a shirt? At least Coach purses are covered in the Coach symbol so everyone knows you spent a fortune on it. But jeans? Jeans are made for farm work. They are made to last under tough conditions. No one has to spend $187 to look casual and cool.

I think people who spend a lot of money on their clothes are gay. If they aren't exceedingly flamboyant, I don't recognize they're that expensive anyway unless they come up to me and say "HEY LIKE MY ROBERTO CAVALLI SILK SHIRT AND DIESEL JEANS IT COST ME LIKE 5000 DOLLARS!"

And then i'll just say to them "wow, you're gay"

I used to want a coach purse but now i don't. The only coach thing i have is a little wristlet bag I got as a christmas gift, which i don't use. I use a leather gap bag that I got on sale for about 15 dollars (Christmas gift too) and it's big enough to carry around all my ****. I wear what's comortable. That's usually gap jeans, some form of shirt, and a sweatshirt when necessary.

Although I am guilty of buying Uggs. Can't help it. I like them so much. East coast fashion is probably different than most other places. We were all wearing Uggs 7 years+ before they became popular.

But really, I had a pair of uggs when I was like 10. I'm not a fashion slave, because I was one of the ones who helped start it. I like them because I can wear them to school, with a skirt, or around the house as slippers.

Rofl, in canada there is a store called Winners that basically take clothes/purses/accessories from ANY store that has leftovers that they couldn't sell out.

They sell ALOT of coach purses. All for ridiculously CHEAP prices mostly ranging from $30-50 Canadian.

And...can somebody tell me what are Uggs? I'm somehow under the impression that they're those weird rubber shoes with giant holes in them... but I could be wrong?

Uggs. I've had two pairs in tan, and now I have them in black. I don't bother with the other new colors because they don't match everything.
