Jurs, I think you may be stereotyping the social status of the site. The common generalization is "Computer nerd with acne without a girlfriend". With the growing popularity of computers, this generalization is really quite ignorant, and for the most part, probably untrue. Although, it does set up good jokes.
The number of regulars always seems to slightly diminish. And people make a big deal when someone comes back. I'm a regular and I never really thought I was one of "the regulars". The regulars consisting of the people who have formed their superfriendships with people on the site and stuff like that.
I'm actually just starting to talk to people outside the forum :\ I disappeared for a while but now I have too much spare time and it's still cold out so I came back. Yes though, we really are just growing into one tight knit community. Like an E-Family of love and creation!

I'm in the same boat as Tasuke here. I "regularly" visit the boards nearly everyday, and I also "regularly" submit my music. I also participate in the SoCal meetups and such, but I don't thank I would be considered a board "regular", per say.
I've been a regular since this this forum was created. I did play FFR at one point, but I stopped because I just wasnt that good at it. Same goes for DDR. The night I beat Max300 I quit. But I stuck with the forums because the community is actually pretty boss.
I think everyone would be surprised by the number of people that float by as guests or read it regularly without posting. On strange note, forum activity has nearly doubled in the last week. Bizzare.
Synth: Forum activity has doubled purely because of the 1mil get thread. 40,000 posts will do that.
EDIT: and I'm still waiting for the day when someone will come up to me on the street and be like, "Yo dude... you're that asshole mod from FFR!" or something like that.

You didn't understand anything about my post, dumbass. Go kill yourself.
I'm saying for a lot of people the internet is an outlet because of personal problems. It was for me. Now that that's gone, I have friends and people know me. Some people online are different than they are offline. I'm kind of the same in both places, now. I probably wouldn't like people as much on here if i met them irl because they're probably different.

I was one of those non-posting lurkers for a pretty long time. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a lot of people like that... I even had fun following TWG before it was made private, ha.
Even now I lurk tons but only post occasionally. I guess some people just prefer to stay more in the background.

Rofl, you wouldn't believe how different I am irl. I don't even start conversations. Ever.
