    Re: Magic The Gathering

I used to play MtG, junior in high school...

Started playing during the 'old school' times (read: Urza's Saga)

Still have a Sliver deck hanging around here somewhere.

okay let's see if I can catch up.

Cyber Stein: My friend sold that one (Yes the one on ebay).

M:tG: I played from 5th-5th (yeah, I got lazy), Invasion Expansion, and currently Ravnica Expansion (Red/White/Blue lockdown... my friends hate it, even though I have Kamigawa in it as well). Sorry, but M:tG is cheaper than YGO.

I played YGO from LOB to AST (sold all my cards for $100, HA! I always get it from my friend that I got ripped even though I sold it to my friend so he can make the deck better as the sets go on)

Seal of Orichalcos is 'powerful' in the anime, nothing else.

      Yes, I'm a tcg loser.

Urza's Saga was my favorite set, so many good cards that came from it. But that was like 6 years ago. I just made a current type 2 deck that is more top tier than my mono white one (It's a Heartbeat deck).

                  Re: Magic The Gathering

A dredge deck has to have these cards to be effective:

                  4- Life of the loam
                  4- Gleancrawler
                  4- Kagemaro

and of course plenty of non land mana sources such as dark elf and bird of paradise

                    More like Pokemon cards.

                    Seriously though.

                    Slivers ftw.

Slivers can choke on my nuts. They have WAY too much reinforcement. It's almost as bad as a shadow deck.

                        ::breaks out overpowered elf deck::

Slivers are the cheapest thing in the whole of creation. Over the last summer I met two people with sliver decks, and castrated them with their own rib-bones.

                            Re: Magic The Gathering

I don't have a deck of my own, I don't make a habit out of playing the game, but every once in a blue moon I'll run into someone with multiple decks, we'll both have time to kill, and we'll play. I usually lose for some reason, but I hardly think it's ever my fault. I have a TERRIBLE knack for not drawing any land/mana cards until at least the 3rd turn of the game.

My friend, the guy who taught me how to play, is also a big believer in the older "sets" or whatever you guys call them. He's got this wicked Forest Deck with all these neat monsters (that are powerful, but not so powerful that they cost a lot), like, 3 Regenerations, and it's absolutely fantastic when he has, like, more than 12 forests out and he draws Nature's Revenge. I like watching matches more than playing since I lose a lot. I enjoy closely hovering over the player's shoulder and going "Oooh, what card is that?" and constantly disturbing the game by taking the cards to look at them every time they play a new one.
