    Dan Brown's In Court!

I was watching MSNBC an hour ago and I found out that Dan Brown-the author of The Da Vinci Code, is going to court. Why?:

"Author of Da Vinci Code accused of copying some things of Blood Grail and Holy Grail. "

    Or it sounded like that.

MSNBC said "The best way to defend himself is to say that he and does it a whole different than the way the author of Blood Grail and Holy Grail.

What are your thoughts about this?

    Oh!

Yeah, people are always trying to sue some rich fellow, saying they thought it up first. The DVC was pretty good tho.

The book is called The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail and it presents the plotline of Brown's novel as a workable theory of a part of the life of Jesus. The authors are claiming copyright infringement, saying Dan Brown stole their ideas.

Somehow I doubt MSNBC had such poor grammar.

Also, if this claim had any merit, it would have been brought to light 2+ years ago. Unless it was and is just now coming to trial... which I guess is possible.

Actually, Tass, this isn't the first time someone has sued Dan Brown for copyright infringement.

These people publish works as what they believe to be facts, and then get really pissed off that someone used their theory to create a work of fiction that turns out to be much more successful than any of the works used in the research of said fiction.

It's because the movie is coming out now. Same thing happened with the Harry Potter author right before one of her movies came out.

Sorry Spec, but I am going to have to disagree. I only enjoy books that have an abstract plot, and big words and really boring detailed descriptions of setting. I dont like things to be spelt out for me. Hemmingway...now that guy...whoa nelly. Old Man and the Sea? EDGE OF MY SEAT THE WHOLE TIME.

If Hemmingway was ever sued, it was probably because he was so boring.

Plagiarism. Such a funny thing. You could have the word, " I think that this hypothesis is correct because..." and they would nail your for plagiarism. You used 8 words and they want you to quote the person who originally used them. But that is a little extreme.

I have yet to read the Da Vinci Code. I think I might read it. Not sure.
