GRUNGE LIVES ON!!!!!!!

If you are wondering what grunge is, it is basically half punk, half alternative, or something like that. Anyway I have noticed that it has somewhat disappeared from sight. With it's starting out as an underground Seattle 80's punk movement it hadn't really gotten far until 1988 when it started to spread just a little.. Until Nirvana came out with Nevermind which took the world by storm and opened the gateway to all the others such as Sonic Youth, The Jesus Lizards and many others, in fact Alice in Chains use to be a metal band until they converted from metal to grunge around 1993. Sound Garden also came out in the open with there album Badmotorfinger which came out 1991. And after that not much else happened until 1994 when Kurt Cobain died (either suicide or murder) and things started to fall apart. Sound Garden split up around 1997 and Layne Staely (I think that's how it's spelled at least) died 2003 from a cocain and herione overdose, Pearl Jam just played a couple of concerts here and there (including Halifax Nova Scotia which was wicked) and Sonic Youth came out with an album recently (try 2001 recently). And all the other ones that only impacted the state of Washington all just fell apart and turned into mediocer hip-hop bands. It looked like the grunge scene was dead for sure. But if you can play an instrument (any instrument, it doesn't matter what it is) and you live in Seattle or Olympia or where ever, get a bunch of friends together and start playing. Hell, if you like any of the bands I have menchained in this article get your friends together and make a tribute band(you know like go around to theaters and stadiums and play the songs that the band came out with) because the grunge genere will never die. (okay that last one was a lie)

Yea it will, and it already did. Grunge isn't all that great. It is probably the most simple form of music ever invented. You follow like 3 guidelines in composing "grunge". Lots of Uneeded Distortion, clean vocals, and simplicity. Then you look at metal. Metal you have to have main riffs, fills, off-riffs, bridges, solo(s), and other stuff. Grunge is still good though. Not dissing it. But it could use some serious work. Better guitars would help it alot. And please dont post humongous posts often. I have trouble reading them.

Grunge and rebelliousness sounds OK I guess. Seeming how they completely broke almost all of musics "rules" in making it. Grunge is just odd. Plain odd. Odd like the way when a man spanks another with a fiery passion.

Why must kurt cobain talk about his libido in a song involving a misquito. His lyrics have no relation to each other. I am really starting to hate this guy. I am glad courtney love killed him.

And grunge has lived on; it's called post-grunge. And, not to be rude, it's horrible.

Grunge is noise without reason+angst.
