As stated in the title, I had laser eye surgery (LASIK to be specific) and now my vision is 20/15. The only "problem" I had at the moment is called the "halo" effect where everything kind of looks like this:

Just kidding.
No really it looks more like this:

It is a little exaggerated since I really only see halos around things like lights or if sunlight is creeping through a blind or something. But look at how hilarious this picture is! Personally, I like it as it makes things look a lot...softer.
The surgery was virtually painless. The only thing I felt was the little clamp thing they stick into my eye socket to pry open my eyelids. The surgery was painless. There is a slightly unpleasent odor, much of which smells like to burning hair and the dentist's office....only not as bad. And the laser machine makes all kinds of really cool noises. I wanted to make the comment "Hey, who let the Flashbulb into the room, oh wait, never mind, what I am hearing doesnt suck as much as the Flashbulb?" but I doubt any of the surgeons knew who the Flashbulb was...so I kept my mouth shout...I was also kind of sedated so I probably would have just mummed it. But yeah, the Flashbulb really does suck.
So, the operation was virtually painless.
But the 4 hours after the surgery hurt like a bitch. I was literally immobile from the pain. It was like someone had replaced my eyes with burning coals. It was the most painful feeling I had ever felt. I took a sleeping pill and went to sleep for a couple of hours. When I woke up I felt fine.
Apparently this is common. I knew that there would be some irritaion and burning after the surgery...but goddamn!
Everything is fine now.
In fact, I am typing from three feet away. Whoa!

Just kidding.
