How many of you have heard your parents say this?

or sometimes

"If you put as much time into your housework as you put into your games, this place would be spotless!"


I'm just wondering, cuz my parents tried this crap with me for a long time, even after I repeatedly said "Guys, you're not going to make these chores fun for me by relating them to video games, just give up!" I was just wondering if other parents told their kids to act like chores were games (or if they just beat you into submission) and how well that worked in motivating you.

My parents say that kind of stuff to me all the time, especially when I'm playing SM just to annoy me.

And they just come barging into my room without knocking and say shit like "[My name], DO YOUR F-ING CHORES OR I WILL TAKE AWAY YOUR F-ING KEYBOARD MOUSE AND GAME CONTROLLERS IF YOU DON'T DO SOME HOMEWORK/CHORES."

And it's really embarassing because the neighbors (whoa, almost spelled that like nabers for a second.) can hear it and they imitate my parents when I leave for school sometimes...

"How come you can remember lyrics to a song but you can't remember when to do your chores?"

i hate that one with a passion because theres obviously a huge difference between memorizing lyrics to a song than remembering to do gay chores. come on now, mom. stfu.

I hear this alot. It gets annoying so I just go up in my room and blast the guitar playing pinch harmonics on High e fret 21+. It's funny when they go, "Hey knock that off and do you freaking chores."
And the reply is," If you don't leave me alone i wont stop." Then they go away and do the chores themselves.

would have more of an incentive to do them. It hasn't worked yet.
