    Jack Thompson strikes again.

GamePolitics hasn't declared this to be "Jack Thompson Week," although it may have seemed that way at times to our readers. Admittedly, our coverage of the controversial Miami attorney has increased as tomorrow's GTA cop killer trial approaches in Fayette County, Alabama. It is, after all, a moment…

I say we nominate him for Biggest Douche in the Universe. I believe he could beat out that Crossing Over guy.

    What an effing moron.

Grand Theft Auto doesn't make kids bad, not beating your kids ass enough makes them bad.

That article made me sad. Sad that we allow people such as that to become our CNN news... And here I thought CNN only talked about important issues, that I cared about.

      RE: Jack Thompson strikes again.

On July 22, 2005, after the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas case was settled, Thompson attacked The Sims 2, saying that the game "is no different than what is in San Andreas, although worse."
      i no

      so tru.

      "A Modest Video Game Proposal"

On October 10, 2005, Thompson sent another open letter to members of the press and to Entertainment Software Association president Doug Lowenstein. He proposed that, if someone could "create, manufacture, distribute, and sell a video game in 2006" that allows players to play the scenario he has written, he will donate $10,000 to the charity of Take Two's chairman Paul Eibeler's choosing [19]. The title of the letter alludes to Jonathan Swift's classic 18th century satire: A Modest Proposal.

The game follows a disgruntled father of a killing victim who takes his revenge upon the games industry, which he blames for 'training' the man who killed his son. The father begins a spree of murders in retaliation, attacking the offices of "Take This," who made the game, and killing the chairman "Paula Eibeler" and her family. The father then begins a road trip across the states, back to Los Angeles, then assaulting the law firm "Blank, Stare" who represent "Take This" and various gaming arcades and games stores before arriving at E³ and completing a "monstrously delicious rampage" on the participants. Thompson argued that the game industry would never make such a game, in which the targets are virtual representations of themselves, for fear of turning players into their own killers.

Watch as this instantly becomes an enormous hit of 2006 and everybody buys it just to spite Jack Thompson.

If it really does come out, I know I will. No matter how crappy it is.

Rough Draft – Violent Video Game Speech

One of the most controversial topics currently sweeping our nation is the sale and distribution of Violent Video games. There are strong opponents of the sale of these video games on capital hill, and there are some enthusiasts that go to great lengths to discredit anyone who plays video games, or supports them. Jack Thompson is the main opponent of these video games. He is a Florida attorney who has been behind many major lawsuits against many companies, for “poisoning our youth”.

His views, and a handful of concerned parents, on violent video games is that they are killing simulators. Mr. Thompson has even gone to say that Grand Theft Auto caused Columbine, then attempting to sue the makers of the game, and anyone that they’ve done business with. The question at hand is do violent video games lead kids to kill? In my opinion; NO. Since Grand Theft Auto was released in 2001, over 4.5 million copies have been sold. How many of those 4.5 million copies have led kids to kill? None. If we really had a problem on our hands, we would see more then a few people claiming wrong doing based from that game. How can you say that 1 out of 4.5 MILLION copies caused wrong doing. The fact is there is an underlying factor at hand in regards to youths killing.

Some might argue that even if the games don’t cause school shootings, they are still offensive and shouldn’t be sold. The fact is that kids know the difference between fantasy and reality. It’s the job of the parents to recognize if their child is having a problem grasping that idea, and then they need to seek the necessary help. Stopping the production of the games won’t help at all. Kids will just be able to get the video games from a different country via the Internet

                            PS: I suck at writing.
