I get to miss school, wake up late, and eat shittons of brisket. Of course, I do have to go to a long temple service, but I'm looking on the bright side here.

I just came back from this HUGE dinner, lots of apple and hunny.

All of my Jewish friends who go to temple brought their Torahs in lunch XD It was so funny, i sit there eating, and watching/listening to them practicing.

They half know what they are reading =/

I should be at services (I was invited with Tass's mom) but I'm still tired and in pain from falling at work, so I've just been lazing about in bed.

As for Yom Kippur, my grandmother has a 6th JewSense, and if she even THOUGHT I might be CONSIDERING doing ANYTHING except fasting and not working on Yom Kippur she would fly out here and kill me with her bare hands. So I've arranged to do my lab on a different day and get to miss classes on Thursday the 13th. Yay Jewry!

My school doesnt have Rosh Hashana off or Yom Kippur because there arent enough Jewish people in the school, in fact im the only one -_- they give us coloumbus day off instead the fucking nazis. So I have to stay home today and then go to school tomorrow. My school's asking for a lawsuit..

Not many public schools observe Jewish holidays. You're just excused for religious practices.

Here in NYC they are all off (except the private catholic schools, obviously). I went to the video game store.... it was SWAMPED with little brats. I was like, "damn". And commiserating with the 2 guys who had to work that mob.

Also, all the public schools in the philly burbs have off.... then again, both locales have high jewish populations. And likely their parents play a big role in the community government that make the rules about it.
