I'm going to Hong Kong for a month on the 21st of September. And man am i gettin nervous! My uncle is living there at the moment, his wife teaches english as a second language at a pre-school, and also does tutoring. They paid for our air-fare and passports etc. (mum grandma and myself) and we're staying in his teeny apartment. None of us are going to have much in the way of money, so we're trying to figure out what we're going to do for a whole month...but im sure we'll figure something. ANYWAYS....the point of the thread was to ask if anyone lives there/has been there before? What's it like? What kind of things are there to do there? I know Disney land opened on the 12th, but thats $50 Australian each, we only have $309 to last us a month --_--". Any ideas for what to do? And i have a boyfriend, so going out and trying to pick up some guys isnt a valid suggestion if thats what u were thinking.

RE: Going to Hong Kong!!!
1 month! your so lucky. Hope you have fun -
Oh, wow. That's pretty cool.
I went to Hong Kong when I was five...
Would the $309 you have as your budget be in Hong Kong or Austrailian Currency?
Hmm...maybe a good place to go is Victoria Peak (at least that's what I think it was). Even if you don't go to the peak, it looks pretty.
Although, looking on Wikipedia it seems that the Peak Tower on the peak of it is closed (I don't think I went into that building...But I was five, so I wouldn't remember so well. =/ ).

buy lots of movies and games. They sell them for very cheap.Comment

My aunt lives in Hong Kong. She goes to some university there.
True, but watch out. Some movies/games don't work, while others aren't English versions. If you want to buy legitimate movies/games at a store, check the NTSC regions first.Originally posted by NaOTa4231buy lots of movies and games. They sell them for very cheap.

NTSC is used in Asia and America. The region encoding is what you want to look for.Originally posted by esupinMy aunt lives in Hong Kong. She goes to some university there.

the $309 is in Aus dollars. And yea...i was thinking about movies and stuff....but that's not gonna keep me occupied for a whole month :P. The peak sounds like it would be a nice view. My uncle lives in a really high appartment and you get a nice view of some bay, i just cant remember what its called. I'll go to his site when i could be bothered and get the pics to show you. He does live by a pool...and from what i've heard of the temps i might want to spend a bit of time in there:PRomans 10: 14-15a
