RE: Astronomers discover
There is an 11th one too, they were both found within days of each other, lost the link though... pretty cool nonetheless.

RE: Astronomers discover
We did a study in class once a few years back.
We had the sun on the left side of the class, and pluto was on the far side of the class. Funny thing though was that the other planets were so close to the sun it was amazing to see the distance of all of the planets. A great visual.
I hope they have a name for it, and it better not be "Planet X".Comment

Wow that planet is so far away from the others. It's pretty interesting though. If the 10th one was far away, then the 11th one must be very far. Jay do you remember if it was close to the 10th or farther away?

It's funny that people even care. There are hundreds upon hundreds of planetoids in our solar system (and surely billions upon billions more outside of our solar system) that no one cares about, so why care about this? It doesn't affect anyone's life in anyway at all ever.

I concur Afro...
IMO there are still 9 planets until these conditions 3 be met:
1. it is given a proper name. right now it has a classification. get it a name, or it isn't a planet
2. get it to within a distance that is fairly consistent with the rest of the solar system... pluto is ass far away as it is, about 2x as far as Neptune from the sun, and this "planet" is 3 times farther than pluto. BS... its a huge piece of debris that is in orbit at a retardedly far distance. not a planet.
3. find out more about it. as of now, we don't know its surface conditions, atmosphere, detailed information on its orbit and speed... not to mention we don't even know how big it is. Plus more detailed photos.
When those are met, then I'll consider it a planet.RIPComment

they [astronomers] found the 10th planet along time ago. Like 1 or 2 yrs ago. I think NASA actually found it with one of their orbiters that went off course. It was supposed to go to Uranus or Neptune.Comment

uranus is actually pronounced ur-an-us, with emphasis on us, not your anusComment
