Right now, just one minute after in West Coast, the spaceship Discovery had lifted off. Gladly, no errors were made. Right now they are flying to the Moon, Mars, and more planets. All your prayers had been answered.

How long is the mission, we havent' really heard much about it in the UK.
I was going to dig up some articles about Discovery and its puropse on google due to my since childhood space obsession...but my life has been crazy mental at the moment and i haven't had time.

anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks.

The astronauts stay in space for 12 days.
