A bunch of you probably heard about the recent "Hot Coffee" mod in GTA:SA, which involves unlocking sex minigames that weren't intended to be released to the public. As a result of this, the ESRB raised the rating from M to AO. Well, what people don't know is that one of the major players in that case was none other than the famous Jack Thompson.

Jack Thompson is, to put it simply, one hell of a jackass. He's more outspoken the Lieberman these days. He's also the attorney for the Grand Theft Auto "I shotgunned a car because I played this game" cases.

John B. 'Jack' Thompson is a controversial and outspoken attorney often cited in the media for his views on the effects of obscenity and violence in popular media. He often uses half truths and misinformation in an attempt to trick the ignorant into accepting his views. Thompson, in 1992, was named a "top ten" censor by the American Civil Liberties Union. He is also known for insulting those who do not share his views through e-mails by calling the senders idiots as it has often been demonstrated on forums where people would post copies of replies he sent to e-mails which had been written in a very polite and justified manner.

Grand Theft Auto wasn't exactly a game that focused on morals to begin with, but now his next target is unprecedented...The Sims 2.

In a manifesto sent today to press outlets, Thompson focuses on dismantling the Entertainment Software Ratings Board and exposing what he calls the industry's "latest dirty little secret." The secret's out now, and it involves nude sims.

In the statement, Thompson says, "Sims 2, the latest version of the Sims video game franchise ... contains, according to video game news sites, full frontal nudity, including nipples, penises, labia, and pubic hair."...

...Knowing that the game is popular among all ages, EA has even taken steps to ensure that Sims fans aren't exposed to indecent depictions. In the recent expansion pack, The Sims 2 University, gamers can send their teenage sims off to college. However, instead of packing the expansion with "keggers" and "reefer," EA chose to use juice and bubble blowers.

Thompson doesn't seem to care. He cites a cheat code that can remove the blur that covers the nether regions. "The nudity placed there by the publisher/maker, Electronic Arts, is accessed by the use of a simple code that removes what is called 'the blur' which obscures the genital areas. In other words, the game was released to the public by the manufacturer knowing that the full frontal nudity was resident on the game and would be accessed by use of a simple code widely provided on the Internet."

It's not just the adults that are liberated from their wardrobes. Sims kids can also be nudified, "much to the delight, one can be sure, of pedophiles around the globe who can rehearse, in virtual reality, for their abuse."

Jeff Brown, vice president of corporate communications at EA, in response to the accusations, told GameSpot, "This is nonsense. We've reviewed 100 percent of the content. There is no content inappropriate for a teen audience. Players never see a nude sim. If someone with an extreme amount of expertise and time were to remove the pixels, they would see that the sims have no genitals. They appear like Ken and Barbie."

As clearly fucking retarded as this is, I decided we needed to give this guy a little piece of our mind. His reign of exploiting media coverage for his own twisted political advancement has to stop. It is time to fight back.

You guys seriously haven't heard of him before? He was in a feature in EGM a while back, and I read that gamespot thing. The Sims?? They've already said that even if you remove the 'blurry', all you're left with is a manequin...My word. Man he sounds like a jerk. Never heard of him before. ugh, but the Sims2... i am sure you could do the same thing in Sims1... kinda not as realistic i guess but still. Thats just silly!! its the Sims, fun friendly, lovable (yes i am very addicted).
Hmm, something should be done, this man is threatening young gamers all over the world (the fact that i am over 18 already means nothing) my younger brother is a big style gamer, i don't wanna have to start actually spending time with him when i visit home.

One current horrific example is a video game made available by Sony and Take-Two Interactive called Manhunt. This game allows you to train yourself to kill people by placing plastic bags over their heads while you watch them struggle while suffocating
