What are it's origins?
Just so very curious

I don't really have a life.
I have a few friends, but I rarely do much with them.
However, I do do a sport, track, and I will be doing both track AND crew next year, so I have a sort-of life.
Signature subject to change.

Yeah, I have a life. I've stated before that I would rather go to school with people from FFR than the people that I go to school with now (besides my friends). If you haven't thought about it, there aren't many forum users. There is probably one person out of every school that is like someone from FFR. FFR-ians are pretty rare to find. I really like most of them a lot, they're people who share my sense of humor. I act a little bit differently with my friends or around people at school.

How do you only have a few friends? From the few times I've met you, you're so outgoing that it seems like you'd have a ton of friends.Originally posted by QreepyBORISI don't really have a life.

And yeah, I, despite all the time I spend on the computer, actually have a life. I got to two different schools, so I have a ton of friends. I'm pretty much always "online" in the sense that I leave Trillian up 24/7 (unless someone shuts the computer off which bothers me)

Yep, I have a life. In fact, I have somewhere to go almost every weekend. Last night I was at a friend's party, the weekend before that I was at another friend's party, etc. Now that it's summer, I hang out with my friends during the weekdays, too. But, FFR is now part of my life, and I would think any regular on the forums would agree. So in fact, everyone here has a life because FFR is part of it. FFR/forums in general/computer are places for me to go when I'm bored and I just want to chill out or something.Comment

No. I won't give you crap for this mistake (well, kind-of mistake) because I believed the same thing for years thanks to console games. I mean, you always fight the CPU managed by the game. "Computer" only seems natural.Originally posted by genoguy618A computer
However, CPU just stands for Central Processing Unit, not an entire computer. Now, that's pretty much everything that computes in a console video game, but you don't use those to surf FFR. So, the thing in your office or study or whatever room is a full-out computer. It has inner workings and circuit boards and whatnot that are considered its Central Processing Unit, but in this case, the part does not describe the whole.
And it's not an abbreviation that saves time, either.
And to answer your question, yes, I have a life. School, friends, girlfriend. It may be a pretty nerdy life, but it's a life nonetheless.

Yes, I too have a life. I've started to veer away from the computer and it's wonders and gotten even more involved in my social life. I've gone skating almost every day in the past two weeks, and have spent a lot of time with my girlfriend. Pretty soon I'm getting a job, so that's going to take up a lot of my time as well.

I have a life, kinda. I have friends and i go to thier houses every once in a while.
But my weekends mostly consist of going to see all the cool stuff in LA or, just staying
at home on the computer. I want more of a scoial life but, my life suits me just fine.

I'd like to think I have a life, and a nice one. I'm currently dating someone that is an administrator on this site, but I also live with him, he's how I found this site ...and the people here are amazing...once you've been here long enough, it's kind of an addiction, but I love doing things outdoors, I'm constantly out and about, and I still have time at the end of the day to get on here..so what. -Skooter- .drama makes life boring.Comment

Ha, that will never happenOriginally posted by OmeganitrosWell, I guess I do have a life.
(I secretly dream of days when I can out-do LD in attendance)
Yea i'm on here a lot, but I do a lot of stuff with my friends and outside (OMG OUTSIDE)
The reason I'm on here so much is that I do pay'd web work for several companies, as well as free work for FFR, The Mozilla Foundation, and several other sites I won't name
(Ask me why on AIM if you're dying to know)
So yea, I have a life.

I too am online a lot. But I also have a life outside of the internet. Usually my friends and I get together after school and go eat at places. Occasionally I'll go to parties, BBQ's etc.
I also play shows with my band.
Problem is, my mother is over-protective, so I cant stay out late. So instead, I just go online at night and talk to people, watch movies, or listen to music.Comment
