This is an informal warning: Do NOT post topics just containing a press release, add some of your own thoughts in, or else it makes the topic pointless, and drives it into the ground.

You didn't even say anything, it was like a total copy paste. Not cool.

Put some effort in your posts.

Atlantic Hurricane Season 2005 *DO NOT DELETE UNTIL 10/31*

Arlene arrives....the first named storm of season!

This morning, a ship southwest of the Cayman Islands measured sufficient wind speeds to warrant the naming of the Atlantic Basin's first tropical storm of the 2005 season.

Tropical Storm Arlene is sliding toward the north at 8 mph about 185 miles west of Grand Cayman. Tropical storm warnings have been hoisted for a portion of western Cuba, including the city of Havana and the Isle of Youth.

Arlene is expected to be steered north into the southern Gulf of Mexico by early Friday, and could make landfall along the central Gulf coast late Saturday or early Sunday.

Just keeping up with the hurricane season for residents on the Gulf coast not watching the tropics. If you don't like it, then bug off.

It looks like it's too late to be a hurricane now, it will probably still be a bigass rain storm by the time it hits land.

Alright stop. You've posted the same thing three times. One is enough, people will most likely read your first post when they click this topic. There's no need to post it again. Only when something actually updates.

For my thoughts, this topic shouldn't really be locked until Hurricane Season is over. I have a big interest in hurricanes and would like to discuss with other people.

Arlene doesn't look like it will upgrade to Hurricane status. At most, it may reach 55-60 MPH winds.

Dude. Anyone on the Gulf coast who owns a tv is watching the tropics. THIS IS NOT NEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE WITH HURRICANES EVERY YEAR. It's not even news for ME, and I JUST moved to a Gulf state.
