Host City of Super Bowl 2009.

Tampa last hosted Super Bowl in 2001...and again in 2009.
    Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Tampa was picked Wednesday to host the 2009 Super Bowl in a vote of NFL owners.

Tampa, which most recently hosted the NFL title game in 2001, beat out finalists Atlanta, Houston and Miami. Tampa also hosted Super Bowls in 1984 and 1991.

Next season's Super Bowl will be Feb. 5, 2006, in Detroit, with the 2007 game in Miami, and 2008 in a new stadium being built in Glendale, Arizona.

NFL owners voted in March to award the 2010 Super Bowl to New York, provided the Jets get approval for a 75,000-seat stadium on the West Side of Manhattan.

The next chance that Houston would have to hold the Super Bowl in Houston is until 2013. With Dallas receiving the Super Bowl in 2012, it would be very unlikely, and rare, if the Super Bowl is to be held the same state in back-to-back years.

I don't see any reason why the Super Bowl shouldn't be held in Houston. You've got the bars, the restaurants, the hotels, the Reliant Stadium with the retractable roof, and the Metro train to get from Point A to Point B. The Houston area weather is just perfect. Sure...you might get some rain here or there but that's what the retractable roof is for. To make the conditions in the stadium perfect.

Duh! The city is awesome. Two retractable stadiums in one city? You don't see that often.

Nah! They had there fun. Let someone else host the Super Bowl.

I don't really know all that much about football. So...I don't give a shit.

I changed the name of your topic a little. Like anyone knows who's going to actually win Super Bowl 2009.

If it's not Dallas then I'm paying stupid tax for no freakin' reason.

Of course, they're taxing me without giving me a say. Thomas Paine wut wut?

Houston just got a team. They don't need a Superbowl.

Actually, they had the oilers a while back. They only lost them for a little bit. Oilers moved to Tenesse, became the Titans.

We should hold a Super Bowl at Gilette Stadium, we all know the Patriots will be there anyway. Might as well save some plane fare.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

Actually, Houston had the Oilers which moved, of course, to Tennessee. Then in 2001, the Houston Texans were born. When Houston hosted the Super Bowl in 2003, the people who came to see the game commented that they would love to come back again.......but that would have to wait until 2013 (?).
