your serious view on satanism

i seriously want a resonable reply about satanism. i belive its a religion and diserves to be practised whenever and by who ever. but the christian and catholic churches have been banding it and boycotting it even though satanic believers never boycott christian or catholic churches. i am agnostic but i still have a religious freedom view so please reply on my topic

Note to you: Catholics are Christians. There is no reason to distinguish one from the other.

And your post is quite hard to follow. I don't know what "banding" a religion is, but no religion can or does BAN another religion. Christians don't like Satanists for obvious reasons, though, so they disagree.

As a religion, it's pretty much on the same level as any other one, but it doesn't get respect because people worship evil and society kind of frowns on evil.

Satanism is the worship of Evil, or Lucifer, or any of that jazz. It is the worship of one's self. To do things for one's own good will than the good will of others. Well, at least, that is one aspect of the religion.

Satanism is the worship of the idea of the satan, which is basically the view that one's own self should be the highest, most important power in the world. The Christian Satan has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I'm sure there is a ton of information on this around the internet if you feel like learning more about it.

As far as I know, the actual Church of Satan doesn't really have a lot to do with God or Satan. Anton LeVay (AKA: founder of the Church of Satan) named it thusly to get everyone all riled up (and it worked). He even named his son Satan (which, while intended to prove a point, was probably a pretty terrible idea -- poor kid). Somewhere I read their commandments, and my favorite is something like, "If a man crosses you (or tries to get in your face, or something), ignore him. If he crosses you again, destroy him." Laff.

So, yeah, if it's really something you're interested in, look up Anton LeVay, you'll probably get much farther than if you google "Satanism."

If someone has a belief involving Satanism, whether it is positive or negative, let them believe in it. Chances are somebody isn't going to instantly convert from someone saying "Satanism is bad, don't follow it." Me? I'm atheist, and I'm basically against all type of religion, but I don't care if my friends believe in it, because it's their beliefs. Might not make sense, but there's a few others here that probably feel the same exact way.

Basically, someone who worships/honors the evil figure in a religion, i.e, Christianity=Satan, Bhuddism=I have no clue, so on, so forth. Spazz, by atheist, do you really mean against all religions, or that you don't believe in them? Just wondering.

This has been said before, but everything else in this thread is repetitive so..
Christians aren't exactly "boycotting" them. They just don't support them or except their beliefs. But if a satanist were to walk into a church, I would imagine they'd welcome them with open arms, since they teach stuff like that.
