To Mozilla Firefox, I got spyware that wont go away with Norton Antivirus, Ad Aware SE, or Spybot S&D. I guess I will give up on IE and go to Mozilla, dang. I will also have to format my computer, this means I may stop playing Stepmania.

to LD: I know, I've been using it for the past several hours, its been offered to me many times. Man nothings going to recover tens of thousands of songs, and nothing is going to recover the programs I used on this computer, not all of them at least.Originally posted by lightdarknesshttp://www.getfirefox.com
thx
to Uber_Rave: Yeah, Ad Aware SE catches it, but nothing can catch the hidden file thats installing it, and its not a simple name, it blends in by using random numbers and letters like the other ones in the \system32 file.
to paintball person with stupid cut off letters: You need to post less, I saw you for the first time today, meaning you make either 50 or 25 posts per day, because I was also on 2 days ago.
to Tasselfoot: Is it fair to lock my topic because I made one AIM post, he was doing most of it, look at him, not my topic.Comment

RE: Re: RE: I have to secede
What exactly is the spyware/virus doing with IE?
Not letting you access sites? Log in? Won't open up at all?
And another thing: What exactly is the hassle of switching from IE to Firefox? What's this about losing Music and programs and stuff? Because if that's all it is, I might as well do it for my mom's crappy 266MHz who's IE acts up all the freakin time for no reason and NEVER completes defrag, Ad aware, SpyBot, disk cleanup, disk scan, or even restarts correctly!Comment

Re: RE: Re: RE: I have to secede
It scans every website you go to and sends the most related pop up that it can when you go to that website to try and get you to click the ad. It tracks every key you type and website you visit, it doesnt let you access most sites, it wont let you log in to most places, sometimes IE doesnt open up, I have to try several times, it steals all your personal information, changes your background and screensaver, deletes all of your files, requests clicking on links every minute and stealthfully installs in its hidden file which cannot be deleted or detected. Here comes the good part, what I said isnt half of it.Originally posted by MindfieldsWhat exactly is the spyware/virus doing with IE?

I don't like firefox, the way the browser looks pesters me and images load 10 times slower. However, now that I know it really DOES stop spyware when it can, I will use it more. The spyware is still on my computer as I have been working on getting rid of it for the past 9 hours straight. And another thing: What exactly is the hassle of switching from IE to Firefox? Yeah, the trial version doesn't let you remove the spyware. Which, is always a problem for a lazy bum such as myself who doesn't have $39.95 to fork over for a product will be dated next year.
