Man, one of the only bad things about Google is that the teacher can type in a line from the essay and find it immediately...our teachers told us that and I found out how easy it is to catch plagiarizers, so now if I hold stuff off till the last minute I just half-ass it rather than risk a 0. I have nothing you can say to the VP though...that was a pretty serious thing.

Zajac, I hate to sound like a jerk, but you're pretty much dead in the water now. Something like that can't be lied out of without something to go on. If you've had anything rough happening the past month or so that would've made you unable to concentrate, that'd be your best bet to use as an alibi of sorts. Otherwise, there's nothing else I can think of...Best of luck.

Yeah... I tried out the whole google thing a few minutes ago by typing in a couple sources and it found 3 sites where the essay is from... I am so depressed and freaking out right now... Cypher is helping me through this though... Thanks a million bud

I would just laugh and say that you were screwed, but that wouldnt be right. Here you go. Make up something like you had wanted an example to look off of, and printed one off of the internet. when you were done, you put the real one somewhere else (make up a location) and accidentally put the other one in your pack. if they buy it, good, if not, try this one on for size. "I remember putting the other pieces of paper (location location location) and I can bring it in tomorrow if you would like. If they say yes, buy a 6-pack and start going, if not, your so totally screwed. If someone can make up a happy ending to this one, post it.

I think he pretty much spoiled that when he said he didn't know what the essay the teacher showed him was. If he had used that excuse then, it might have worked.

How about you tell him the truth? Telling the truth makes them go easier on you, as long as you act very sorry about it.

And next time you copy from the internet, at least change the sentences around and reword everything. That doesn't take much time, really.
