I think that ipods are overrated and way to much money for them even though you get like a 4megs of memory. I just wondering if anyone else here thinks that they are to much money or overrated....

Yes, iPods are overrated. Yes, iPods cost too much money. Though, I do think they are the best portable mp3 players available.

They're overpriced, but I don't think they're overrated. I love my iPod, the only thing I don't like is the fact that you have to use iTunes. It would be 4830 times better if I could just use it like a USB drive or something.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?4megs of memory
Anyway, space is not an issue. But yes, they are overrated. You have to deal with iTunes, and you're out of luck if you want to transfer music from your iPod back onto your comp. I keep my entire library on my Creative (way superior to iPods imo), and I can put any of it back on my comp at any time. Plus, iPods get bad battery life (8-12 hours) and cost way too much ($300 for the 20 gig, right?). On the other hand, my Creative gets 25 hours battery life on a 6 hour charge, and costs about $200 for a 20 gig (I paid 185 for mine).

RE: Ipods what do you think about them?
I love my I-pod also.
Space isn't a problem for me. My I-pod mini can hold like 700 songs or something, and most of the stuff I put on it is band and game music. So unless I downloaded all of OCRemix, I don't think I will run out of space.
Also, I listen to it mostly at night before I go to bed, so If it runs out of batteries, I just plug it in. Then in the morning, when I wake up, it's charged and ready to be used again.
I love the touch panel song selecter too. It makes it easy to skip songs. I like it better than my old mp3 player that made me click the fast foward button 50 times.

Imeric and anyone else wondering.. AIM me I can send you a plugin for winamp, basically you put songs on your playlists on Winamp then rightclick the songs and click send to -> Ipod. It's 100000x better then Itunes and works a lot better.Comment

I own a 4th gen (I believe its 4th gen) clickwheel 20gb iPod, and its about half full right now (2600 songs so far). I use it everyday when I walk to campus and during class too. Even though its battery life is "teh crap", I see nothing else wrong with it.Comment

sorry, don't know much about the I-pod here, and don't feel like researching it right now...but why can't you transfer songs back onto your computer? ps...does it run with MP3's, or does I-tunes have its own format?I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.
Done, and done.Comment
