Uhh.... No. Not a fourth-grader book. If you read it you'll know why. Too much... I don't know... wacky humor. Not at fourth-grade level.

And for the topic: Hmmm... Anything by Orson Scott Card. I'm also reading through Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. I'm on Book Four now.

      Orson Scott Card
      Enders Game, lol.

I would have to say my favorite book is Hatchet. For some reason I really liked how he was in the wilderness, alone. Very good book.

Series Of Unfortunate Events. Even though this is kind of kiddish, I just love the way it is written. Stupid Jim Carey and the movie ruined it. Other then that, The Three Musketeers.

Shouldn't this be in the TV\Anime\Movie section?

Since apparently books are TV, Animes, and Movies...

              It's not TV/Anime/Movie I guess.

Yeah, Series of Unfortunate Events is awesome. Agreed all the way. Those books are some of the best-written books I have ever read. Haven't seen the movie yet, though.

I also liked the Sabriel trilogy by Garth Nix. Has anyone read it? Heard of it? It's good stuff- fantasy, if you like that sort of thing.

              EDIT: Deltro beat me :P

I like books from Gary Paulsen to stuff like My side of the mountain. Just some adventure or action in the book is what I like. Hatchet is cool. I like HGTTG though.

I really enjoyed A Catcher In The Rye, though I have seen
bits of the symbolism surface every once in a while. I guess it is
still way over my head. And SHADOWLAND by Peter Straub
(he wrote a book with Stephen King) I really enjoyed, even though
the horoor wasn't what I expected it to be. The Dark Tower series,
is good too I guess but I've only read the first one and want to
                  read the others

Yeah, you should try to read the others, it's really good. Not too scary, though, but very interesting.

And yes, I did enjoy HHGTG (and several of its sequels) as well.

And I think it should be in TV/Anime/Movies because thats more of a media section, or section for things to spend time doing, like reading books.

Buttonkiller...First of all, after having read your post I was absolutely astounded by your idiocy and complete lack of coherence. It took me a while to figure out what the hell you were saying. (And as Tass said, I was SHOCKED to find out you could actually read. Because the post doesn't really make that clear.)

So you think HitchHiker's Guide is a 4th-grade level book based on its movie preview? Have you looked at the recommended reading age for your own favorites? The Underland series is for ages 9-12. I recall being about 9 in the 4th grade. Do they do it differently where you come from?

HitchHiker's Guide is a book written for adults with intelligent senses of humor. (which is why Tass doesn't like it, he doesn't get it ) It is also one of the greatest books I have ever read (in both languages that I know, but it loses something in the Hebrew translation). While I am happy that there is a movie being made, I'm also afraid they're going to royally muck it up and make people not WANT to read the book because of it.

Other excellent books in the same sci-fi/fantasy/really good writing genre: Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, Patricia C. Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Tamora Pierce's series of quartets (Song of the Lioness, Immortals, Circle of Magic, the Circle Opens, Protector of the Small, and Daughter of the Lioness), John Morressey's Kedrigern stories, Nina Kiriki Hoffman (ANYTHING that this woman writes is gold), Mercedes Lackey's fairy tale rewrites, Tanith Lee...the list goes on.

And seriously, buttonkiller..."you spelt "galexy" wrong" is the single most retarded sentence I've ever seen. You think by using an archaic form of the word "spelled" you can get away with not even looking at a dictionary before accusing a coherent, intelligent poster of spelling something wrong?

Dictionary.com. You don't even have to get up off your butt.
                            No entry found for galexy.
                            Did you mean Galaxy?
