So my last attempt at finding someone to cuddle and discuss politics and/or economics with was a miserable failure. Jess will eat crow for all I care. Luckily for me, that experience didn't completely throw me out of the dating market. Today I had a date with one of the greatest girls I've met in my life.
I'm still pretty much kicked out of the theater from last time, which sucks. Anyway, this time we agreed to meet at our church and help run the little fundraising thrift store the church is holding (we go to the same church). We show up and hang out. About half of the time we spend on "break" out in the back of the church alone. The rest of the time we're "working" she's got her arms around me while I fold and explain to her the most basic of the basic economics I know (she asked me to, dammit!).
I still think the best part of the whole thing is just after I finished explaining my externalities thing, the theory about how societies are started. I crane my neck back and my chin down so I can look at her. "Get it?" I ask her with a grin on my face. She couldn't have got it. She smiles back, gives me a peck on the lips and comes back. "What about specialization?"
She bought me a jacket, too. Of course, she made me pay her the money back. It still say it's the coolest jacket ever. Cashmere blazer from Land's End and it's comfortable like nothing else. Apparantly it's also quite stylish.
If I seem especially perky over the next few days you'll know why.
