the thing about halflife being sold at best buy is true.. It started last friday, but they should of pulled them all off the shelves by that evening. As it goes, whoever put them out is fired for breaking street date, they are fined for every copy that was sold ( i think it is about 2000 per copy), and now they are being sued for breach of contract, as well as getting all vivendi games at higher cost and delayed shipments..
We still can't figure out why they did it, because in the long run it isn't going to go in their favor.. But generally when one store fucks up the rest go with it, and yeah.. here we are.
which makes my store's single stolen copy not so bad anymore. =)

It fucking rules, I'm in (insanely minor spoilers) Ravenholm right now..after playing catch with Dog XD
It's very, very fun so far...living up to the hype (which is more than I can say for some of the bigger PC releases this year).

Actually, the game isn't system intensive at all. Like, AT ALL. Major huge freakin' props to Valve for making this accessible to people with a range of system specs. I mean, my humble Athlon 3000+ with 512 Mb of RAM and a modest 9800 was able to run it MAXXED OUT (1024x768, 4x Anti-Aliasing, 8x Anisotropic Filtering) without breaking a sweat. I never go below 60 fps, which is nearly twice as good than I got on Doom III, and this game looks better. Well, ok, Doom had better dynamic shadows...but Source's insane specular and water effects, not to mention the ungodly Character models and facial animation more than make up for it.
Score. If you can max it out with that, I'll be fine.
I think the Self-Shadowing effect and several others in Doom 3 killed the CPU capabilities. HL2 doesn't have that, I believe. Not like it matters. I can't wait to buy this...
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.
