Which is truely, the best media player?

Well after some time now, this has been bugging me. I really want to find out which is the best. Here is my story/opinions on all of the media players I have used.

Realplayer- Very good. No problem at all with it. Decent CD burning. 4+ stars.

WinAmp- Very professional looking, also popular. Although it lags my computer very bad and takes a bit longer to load then most media players I've tried. Also many great features/plug-ins. 4+ stars.

Windows Media Player- Decent. 9 Series was pretty okay. Just got 10 Series, it works great, very professional looking. Luckily they got some critical things before the release. 5 stars.

Quicktime- Although I don't like it much, the codec is needed for some files. I think it's okay. 3 stars.

DivX Player- Everyone knows its nearly flawless. Perfect video player. 5 stars. *EDIT*Video only player

Sonique- Pretty cool, award winning design. Not the best, but very good. 4 stars. *EDIT*Audio Only Player

There are a couple of other ones out there that I know of, but have not tested them out. They are of course, of the "less known" media players, and some are focused just for certain file types(MPEG,OGG,MP3,etc.) I just named the main ones. Of course, now I ask of your opinion. Which one do you prefer to use?

divx isn't really much of a media played if you have the downloaded one... its more of a movie player :\

I prefer winamp for sound files, WMP for video files, and DivX for AVIs (different video file).

I also prefer Winamp for playing music. It isn't that bad for movies, either.

WinAmp seems to be everyones favorite, does it not lag anyones computer at all? I guess I can understand if it doesn't, I do have a slow computer.

                      Idiot.

Winamp is better than everything for audio files. Yes, everything. WMP loves to automatically convert stuff to WMAs, which lots of other stuff (like iPods) don't support. Not to mention it looks better and is more intuitive and user friendly. Doesn't lag any computer that isn't a complete piece of shit anyway.

Oh, and I'd rather go without music than reduce myself to using Realplayer. 4 stars my ass.

DivX is good because it's a very popular codec. A very large majority of videos require DivX, especially ripped video files. However, I don't use it as a player. I just use WMP for downloaded files and Quicktime for in-browser.

                        I don't like real-player.

                        Ugh.

But WinAMP and WMP are still my favorites. I guess DivX, too.

Real Player is the most intrusive piece of software ever. It steals lots of resources, sets itself to start at startup by default, pops up annoying notifications by default, downloads information from the Internet without asking, and it's difficult to turn off all these annoying options - they're well hidden.

On that note, does anyone know of a player other than Real that can play .rm and .ram files?

I tried converting a .rm in Acid, but it couldn't read it.

                            And no. Unfortunately!
