What does FC* mean?

I've gotten FC's before, but I recently got an FC on Death Piano v2 and there is a asterisk next to it. What does this mean?

The asterisk means you previously had an FC as your best score on a file, but you improved on that file without being an FC.

So, even though your best score isn't an FC, your FC from before will still record.

It's also possible to get an FC* by getting an FC that's worse than your PB.

this explains it, I've gotten sight-read FC*s by getting some Averages mid song before and the definition people give for FC*s sometimes don't match what I've experienced
