this is coming from someone who appreciated a lot of things about the last jedi

I made predictions of what would happen during the movie by asking myself "what is the stupidest/tackiest way this can end?" and had like a 75% winrate

I've only ever seen the first trilogy so I don't have any emotional stakes to it being good or bad, but I must confess seeing the hardcore fans try and defend this when like 90% of the hot takes are "it's hot garbage" is priceless

honestly it was fairly predictable throughout, but all of them are, so i didn't really mind. not saying it was good, but it wasn't a train wreck like whatever the hell the last jedi was supposed to be.

the only star wars movie i've liked out of the recent ones was rogue one. other than that, they're all pretty bad.

You know someone's a troll if they try to pretend that New Hope and Empire Strikes Back aren't good movies.

That's like objectively incorrect.

It is weird that the franchise became so huge off of 2 solid movies and basically a long string of disappoints though
