    DJing at a local pool

Hello friends, I have a quick DJing question for ANYONE that knows how to DJ.

Recently, I have been trying to get my feet wet and do my first gig. I contacted my local Fitness/Pool and they have agreed to let me setup for free. That's right, I'm not being paid for my first gig. However, the owner wants to give me a leg and will advertise my name on the public page of my town I live in.

Mostly kids/Family's will be present. That means clean music will be a must.

    I have a [BIG] question:

With kids being present, do I play a bunch of pop songs from today - 2000? If so, can they be remixes? What genres do I stay away from?

I understand this isn't a normal forum for DJ discussion, just wanted some sort of input.

Remixes are fine, stay away from obscenity heavy music and obvious drug/sex related songs.

dadcop i love you can you post more??? you should play twg

as for your question riotpolice I feel like pop song remixes are a good idea. for a pool party I immediately think of dance hall music... I don't know how much families would really dig that kind of vibe though
