You don't have to support TDE. You have a right to an opinion. But opinions SHOULD be educated, and SHOULD be open to change. I don't want to attack anyone who doesn't support it. Reaganomics tripled the national debt, increased class divide (since all of those income increases people like to wank over only went to the rich) and fucked up our homeless shelters and psychiatric hospitals. For minimal job growth at best.

I understand the core concept of trickle-down but it has NEVER proven itself to do anything other than keep the rich richer. Where are those fucking jobs?

EDIT: I do apologize for the "stupid" comment, that was out of line. I'm just in a shaky mood because my new president wants to deport my ass.

And I also should admit my total weakness in not having a true alternative to offer. I'm a socialist by heart but for the United States to switch to a socialist economy would require an absolute upheaval of how it currently stands, and that will NEVER happen. And then there's the flaw in THAT since socialist economies are pretty unproven on a scale as large as the United States (all successful socialist economies are for small as fuck countries and the big "socialist" countries... lol).

It's funny, that economics class comment, I've taken both econs (level 1) and all they fucking talk about is TDE, but so long as historical evidence points to it not working I'm not fully accepting of whatever those teachers taught me.

National Debt is not an indicator of national GDP. National Debt cannot begin to fall until, quite simply, we export more than we import. We cannot do this now because of how outsourced our economy is. NOTHING can change this EXCEPT for deregulation on businesses - the businesses cannot afford to do business in our country right now. The national unemployment rate did actually fall below where it was with previous presidents (and future) at the end of his presidency. There is a lag time between tax changes and economic impacts. His policies did not do a whole lot for unemployment i'll admit. But they did not increase it. However, after his presidency unemployment began to increase after his policies were slowly undone. Lag time is a very important aspect in economics that many people do not understand, as many economic changes do not manifest until later and often these manifestations are not accredited to the economic changes. Reaganomics is NOT a perfect catch all system, but before AND after his presidency, the economy declined in almost every aspect.

Yeah... I'm still not at ALL a fan of TDE but so long as this is the case I see legitimately no fix for the US economy (TDE certainly would not fix this). Yet deregulation to a degree that would cause exports to increase over imports would require some SERIOUS human rights policy reversals that nobody would find appealing.

On a TOTALLY different note, I'm obviously no fan of Reagan but how can one compare Reagan to Trump? Because they were both screen stars popular with white people? Reagan, no matter what my opinion of his plans and policies are, HAD PLANS AND POLICIES. I cannot think of Trump's policies about anything other than cutting taxes or something something racist bullshit (most of which is absolutely ludicrous and wouldn't even pass a Republican-controlled House or Senate).
