I'm not a fan of excessive heat so temperatures like this and last week are damn near unbearable. It was as high as 28 degrees yesterday and has averaged around 24-25 degrees all week. That's about 10 degrees higher than the average for July in Belfast.

I rather have a sudden torrential amount of rain that can cause major flooding and possibly ruin someone's basement than have the summer be filled with these 90 F humid I wanna kill myself weather.

Holy shit, how are fahrenheits still a thing!? This makes 0 sense.
Just reading wikipedia, the current definition of a fahrenheit seems to be "The temperature scale for which the freezing point of water is at 32 degrees, and boiling point is at 212 degrees".

I am baffled. This definition is even more random than I expected.

Edit: the 0 point of the unit was defined by a salt+ice solution of some Polish dude. Why does the US still support this ridiculous unit

specifically that solution is brine which is kinda useful at least

the stupider one is the 100 F reference, which i've always heard is the empirical temperature of fahrenheit's wife's armpit

you only need two reference points to define your own temperature scale. we did it in middle school

Ive been in one earthquake and it made the building i was in feel like it was really flimsy even though it was 4 stories tall and like the size of a block

High 80s, feels low 90s. Classic Indiana weather. Haven't seen 100 yet this Summer that I can recall which is kinda strange. Hang in there folks!

Nowadays, from the article, the referene points are 32 and 212, as I've quoted in my post, which are (I suppose) a consequence of having 0 be the temperature of brine and 100 be the temperature of Fahrenheit's wife's armpit (wow I didn't think it could get more ridiculous, but it did!)....

The day imperial units are abolished will be a great day. While we're at it, I wish Phillips screws would be dropped in favor of the much superior square screws. Gah, sometimes it's frustrating to be your neighbors, dear USA!

Main issue is that you use Fahrenheit instead of Celsius, imo... Celsius is naturally colder, its just how it works.
