I think it would be beneficial. At present the game is highly separate from the forum. A lot of people who play the game don't post on the forum and a lot who post on the forum don't play the game.
Trying to merge the two together would help keep people on the site longer and would, in turn, make people more interested in staying.
I'm just talking simple things. Such as when getting a score on the game it could have an option to 'brag about this score on the forum'. Clicking that instantly takes you to the 'create a new thread' part of the brag board. Or even 'save this score as a screenshot' so you can then instantly post multiple images of everything you did that day.
The opposite could then be true on the forum. When people brag about scores there could be links saying 'think you can beat this score?' that would take you straight to that song in the game to play.
I have no idea if this is feasible, coding-wise, as I have no knowledge of coding. It just sounds good in my head in making everything seamless and integrated.
