Jamie, I feel for you. And for me. And for all those who go to public chat rooms even vaguely expecting the wholesome or profound. For those in the past who originally had the vision to create a wonderful place called a chat room, those whose visions were shattered.
I'm afraid there's nothing we can do for the chat rooms. All we can do is wonder what in the world the people on the other side mean when they say completely rude and random things. Who knows. Maybe it's some sort of code, for people trying to overthrow their government.
Joy is not the absence of sorrow but the presence of God
Do you know why so many accounts of chat users get deleted?
Because we can't do anything about it. The most we can do is kick them out, and even then they just come back right afterwords. I'm not talking about someone that just spams 4 lines and then laughs about it. I'm talking about someone that will come back to the chat and spam constantly acting like they're higher than everyone, including the FFR staff. So the only *real* thing we can do is delete their account, or change their username/password but I have to log them out in order to have that take effect. Even if their account is deleted, a lot of people don't care about the game or the site itself so they just recreate it and log back in.
In general I wonder if the guy who created the chat version was on speed when he finished it -_-;
I've been going in more recently, and noticed that when people of authority are in there, it is relatively under control, and much more appropriate. If there aren't any, it runs completely wild. That just means that a simple solution would be a group of mods that cover more times of availability, until a new chat version with more restriction features is released.
I think that past a certain number of people, the whole idea of public chat falls apart. No one can tell who's saying what to who. Limiting the amount of people (or lowering the amount; I usually can't tell) allowed in a certain chat room will tackle at least a small portion of the underlying problem beneath chat room chaos.

When I go into the chat, it's always being spammed. Well, almost always.. But when it's not being spammed there's so much being typed by everyone you might as well not type anything at all, your message floats to the top too fast.
Get IRC unless you're waiting for another braindead chick to flash her cam.
What ever happend to that IRC sticky topic? Even the ops aren't visiting the channel anymore.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
The chat is alright to go to when you've got at least 4 sane, or at least intelligent (the two facts have very little to do with each other), to talk to. There are still a lot of idiot spammers, but it's tolerable when other people are being okay.
You just need to pick a better time to go in there, Jamie. Most the sane and/or intelligent people are on in the evenings. Middle of the day is just asking for a bunch of turds running around asking for cybersex or cussing each other out.
Oh, and good job keeping your cam off. We all know you've had to put up with a ton of PMs asking for naked pictures. I hate to see what would happen if someone as good looking as you was on cam.

What is the IRC? Is it a separate chat room? I'm sorry. I'm new here, and I just want to get to understand everything, and get to know everyone.
I have entered the chat room recently, not too many times, but when I am there. I see some people spamming, but I haven't noticed any of the "wanna make a private chat" stuff at all.
personally, i clicked the link to go to the chat once, looked at it for a second or two, then left. i may need to go sometime and stay so i'll know what all the fuss is about.
