remember, anyone can join the story and you can choose any color you wish and be our ally and if you choose Orange or Indigo, you can be one of the generals in charge of protecting King Rainbow

however - if you choose a shade of grey, you can either work as an ally to us or as our enemies trying to seize the fortress (you don't have to tell us who you're working for if you wish to double-cross us or even the enemy)

if you choose a shade of black, though, you're automatically our enemy

Received Green, this is Yellow reporting. The news that the Greys have allied with the Absence is very disturbing, because at this moment we have a squad of Greys in our camp helping us fortify our defenses. If the Greys truly have turned against us then we might have a huge problem on our hands here...who knows what they have actually been doing...

This is Blue. I will send my team with Red's to aid with the rebellion. There is currently a small party heading your way to help link back, Red.

What goals do the Greys want that differ from the Absence? If some conflict, maybe we can turn them against each other.

(I'm guessing UtF is a soldier then?)

Yellow reporting. I have spoken to the Grey squad present in our camp, and they have told me a distressing story:

A few months ago the Absence arrived in the Grey lands under a white flag and asked for their assistance against the color coordinates. This one action was enough to create tremendous tension in the Grey people. Some wanted to oppose the Absence, some wanted to join, and some simply feared picking the wrong side. Eventually the Greys began turning on themselves. Some joined the Absence, and some have not. A few Greys tried to warn us of their impending arrival...

...They never made it. A legion of Absence and Grey ambushed and massacred them. The few survivors of the group are the ones currently in my camp.

Be careful of any Grey interactions. The Greys are not united...they are fighting each other just as much as us or the Absence.

*Yellow, thank you very much for your report. I'm glad to hear that some of the Greys are still working for us. Still, be careful which Greys you trust. It sounds like the motive of the Greys who have joined the Absence Fleet is to avoid being killed by them or simply to aid them. I am still not sure what the Greys and Blacks of the Absence Fleet have against us. Maybe they want to take rule the Land of Pigment or maybe they want to get rid of us. Whatever the reason, we won't surrender our freedom!*

Yet you've also implied they have been working for us for a while? Which is the case?

Also, my legion is nearly ready to fight. All we need is a few more troops and we will be at full strength. If Red and Blue can successfully free the Purples from the enemy Greys, send them towards my legion so we can merge and form a full battle force again. I am currently located some distance northwest of Blue, Red, and Purple.

The Greys have been neutral for over a decade, but in the last two years, the Absence Fleet has gained a lot of power and they have compromised the Grey's freedom. As a result, even though (as far as I know) the Greys don't hold grudges toward any particular race, they have joined us to reclaim their way of life.

i've been waiting for a few days, hoping that at least one person would choose the role of a Black or Grey of the Absence Fleet, but if no one wants to be the bad guy by tomorrow we'll probably have to adopt two roles to fill more positions

*edit* this thread was originally meant to have a silly tone, but i really enjoy this story so far; thank you to choof, MrPopadopalis25, helphelp11, Guest15937, and to everyone else who participated so far

i hope to continue the story for a little while and develop the background

Red here, our assault on the Grey camp will begin shortly. We have prepared a prerecorded message that I will activate in the event that we are defeated, but we hope that we don't have any use for it.
